Timber Frame House Production Process in Our Company: From Design to Assembly

The production of Kurland Hus timber houses is a carefully developed and tested process, where every stage plays an important role in the final quality. By combining traditional carpentry craftsmanship with modern technology, we ensure excellent quality, sustainability, and solutions tailored to each client’s needs.
We have been working in Latvia and Scandinavia for twenty years, during which we have created an optimal sequence of steps—from the client’s idea to the house keys. In this blog post, we invite you to get acquainted with the house construction process.

1. Design and Drafting

Before construction begins, we carry out 3D modeling and prepare precise drawings. Clients can choose between:

  • A standard model from our catalogue (with the option to customize),
  • An individual project based on the client’s idea, sketch, or drawing.

We also assist with all necessary documentation to simplify coordination with the municipality — foundation plan sketches, 3D visualizations, and technical drawings in accordance with building permit requirements.

2. Contract Signing and Preparation for Production

Once the drawings are approved, a contract is signed with the client, covering all essential details regarding production and delivery.

3. Procurement of High-Quality Timber

The quality of a timber house starts with the raw materials. We use industrially produced, planed timber with CE marking. The CE mark is a certification that indicates a product’s compliance with health, safety, and environmental protection standards within the European Economic Area.

4. Production Process

  • The entire house production process takes place indoors under a roof, ensuring stable moisture levels in the timber.
  • Only our company’s certified professional carpenters are involved in the work.
  • Our relatively small production volume allows us to strictly follow building technology.
  • The production of a house frame takes approximately 2–3 months.
  • Continuous quality control and communication with the client are maintained throughout the process.

5. Transportation

A transportation and assembly contract is concluded with each client.

  • Delivery of the house frame to the client’s construction site takes 3–5 months.
  • Average assembly time is 6–7 weeks.
  • Transportation of materials is carried out in cooperation with leading Baltic transport and logistics companies. Transportation costs are included in the price.
  • Transportation is always coordinated with the client’s possibilities and schedule.

6. House Assembly on Site

To ensure high-quality and safe work, we carry out the assembly ourselves on the building site. Our workers are trained and equipped with the necessary tools and machinery for smooth operation.

  • Assembly of the timber house frame: 4–7 days.
  • Completed house from the outside: 3–5 weeks (delivery, assembly, roof, windows, exterior doors, terrace).
  • Completed house from the outside and inside: 6–8 weeks (in addition to the exterior works, we install interior doors, wooden flooring, stairs, moldings, sauna).

7. Handover and Warranty

After construction is finished, the client receives detailed recommendations for proper use. We provide a 2-year warranty for the house structure.
Our goal is to ensure that your timber frame house serves you for many years while preserving its beauty and functionality.
Choose one of our timber frame house models from our catalogue! All models can be adapted to individual client needs, and it is also possible to design a completely custom project for you.
